Dog Ownership
Every dog, on any property, over the age of six (6) months must be registered with the Council. Fines are applicable for unregistered or unmicrochipped dogs and dog behaviour that contravenes the Dog Control Act 2000.
Dog Registration fees are due annually on July 1st and are payable within thirty (30) days of the due date.
Registration application forms are available from Council offices.
Microchip services are available from local veterinarians or the Tasmanian Canine Association on (03) 6272 9443.
To report lost or found animals, please call the Council’s Municipal Inspectors on (03) 6264 0300.
